Swiss Beer Tours Team Sandro.jpg

SANDRO - Co-Founder & Guide

Born and raised in Zurich, Sandro is the chief hop head at St. Laurentius Brewery and someone who somehow turned “liking beer” into a full-time lifestyle. His first real encounter with modern craft beer came during a 2018 trip to Vancouver, where the massive and diverse beer scene more or less rewired his brain.

He is a certified Swiss Beer Sommelier, a Cicerone Certified Beer Server, an experienced beer judge, and a writer who covers everything from brewery culture to niche beer styles. When he is not in production or sales at the brewery, you will usually find him behind the bar at The International Beer Bar or out exploring new spots for the travel and food channel Original TravelZ, which he runs together with Simona.

Sandro regularly judges competitions like the World Beer Cup, writes about beer and brewery culture, and keeps a close eye on what is happening in the Swiss scene. Sandro knows a lot about beer. In fact, he knows so much that even he gets excited listening to himself talk about it. Add his enthusiastic hand waving into the mix, and you might occasionally lose track of the actual topic, but you definitely won’t be bored.

Swiss Beer Tours Team Simona.jpg

SIMONA - Co-Founder & Guide

Simona has almost ten years of guiding experience between her hometown Sofia and Zurich, where she has been living for the past eight years. She has led countless pub crawls and food tours, always mixing stories, context, and a good laugh into the experience.

Her path to beer came through curiosity and a love for exploring flavours. If something looks unusual, strange, or borderline questionable, she will try it first and ask questions later. She is currently finishing her master’s thesis in International Alternative Tourism and spends the rest of her time creating food and drink content together with Sandro for their travel channel, Original TravelZ.

Simona describes herself as a Jack of all trades but mostly a travelling, eating, drinking (also tea) Jack at the moment.  Simona has a beautiful talent for drifting into stories that are… loosely connected to beer at best. At some point on the tour, you might suddenly find yourself learning about Bulgaria’s political landscape, historical controversies, or a childhood anecdote that came out of nowhere. It’s part of her charm - and somehow, it always circles back to the next drink.

Swiss Beer Tours Team Corvin.jpg

Corvin - Guide

Student during the day, tour guide in the evenings (and on Saturdays). Corvin balances lectures, research papers, and deadlines with the far more enjoyable task of showing people Zurich’s food and drink scene. While chocolate has been a childhood obsession, his love of beer only started after tasting craft beers at the student bar PapperlaPub.

Delving deeper into the world of beer, he ended up joining Swiss Beer Tours in 2024. Since then, he has learned fast, tasted even faster, and added his own perspective to the team. Not content with sticking to one drink, he also helped create the Zurich Tea Tour, proving that flavour, aroma, and storytelling matter just as much outside the beer world.

Always eager to learn more and try new flavours, Corvin brings a big dose of energy and the kind of curiosity that never really switches off. He loves diving deep into topics and sharing what he knows, sometimes faster than you expect, but always with genuine passion. For guests, that means lively explanations, honest recommendations, and a guide who makes every tasting feel like a shared discovery rather than a lecture.

Swiss Beer Tours Team Sandra by Caterina Lodo.jpg

Sandra - Guide

Sandra’s love for beer started when she reached legal drinking age (well, honestly, a little before that). She soon began exploring different styles and deepening her knowledge and skills. On her many travels, she explored every country through beer and stumbled upon all kinds of curious brews: from quinoa beer in Peru to outlawed lager in Pakistan, all the way to smoky IPAs in Japan.

She is a self-employed illustrator and graphic designer, but her passion for beer opened several doors. She started her beer career as a taproom and event manager at Brausyndikat and worked as a bartender at The International Beer Bar and Ponyhof. In 2023, she won a scholarship from White Frontier to train as a beer sommeliere, graduating top of her class (obviously) in January 2024.

Since 2024, Sandra’s friends have been spared her endless beer talk - now she gets to share her passion with guests on the Swiss Beer Tours, who happily let her geek out about hops, malt, yeast, and water. If Sandra thinks something is brilliant, you’ll know immediately. And if she thinks it isn’t… well, you’ll know even faster.
